I learned a lot during our first couple of weeks together pertaining to the art of communication. It's amazing just how much of our life as human being's is based on communication. This includes and is not limited to verbal, visual and electronic communication.
Verbal is simply speaking and communicating with others in that regard.
Visual includes hand gestures, body motions and just communication in ways not pertaining to speak.
Electronic includes emails, cell phones, facebook. etc...
Through certain class experiments and discussions we were able to utilize different types of communication and work together to perform certain tasks such as the paper football and cats cradle.
I think communication is something one tends to take for granted. I'm not sure of just how much, but I would guess that over three quarters of a persons life is based off of communication and being able to do so in a proper and efficient manner.
What I like about the class is that we focus on how people think and do certain things in life. I feel like that is the kind of things that students actually remember in school. Math, History and all the classes where a lot of memory is needed are good but classes like scientific inquiry can teach you things to apply to your everyday life.
I really can't say anything I don't like about the class so far. We really haven't got too far into readings and all yet, but what we have done in class I feel has been effective.
I look forward to what else we will get into as the semester goes on.

Communication is such an important tool for a human being to possess. It is impossible to gain knowledge and thrive as an individual if one is not able to commuincate with other's. Good communication skills are essential in school, most job fields, and overall just living a more effective lifestyle.
