BLOOD TYPE DIETS
Type As flourish on a vegetarian diet - if you are accustomed to eating meat, you will lose weight and have more energy once you eliminate the toxic foods from your diet. Many people find it difficult to move away from the typical meat and potato fare to soy proteins, grains and vegetables. it is very important that Type A's eat as natural and organic as they can. "I can't emphasize enough how this critical dietary adjustment can be to the sensitive immune system of Type A. With this diet you can supercharge your immune system and potentially short circuit the development of life threatening diseases."-Dr. D'Adamo.
For Type Bs the biggest factors in weight gain are corn, wheat, buckwheat, lentils, tomatoes, peanuts and sesame seeds. Each of these foods affect the efficiency of your metabolic process, resulting in fatigue, fluid retention, and hypoglycemia - a severe drop in blood sugar after eating a meal. When you eliminate these foods and begin eating a diet that is right for your type, you blood sugar levels should remain normal after meals. Another very common food that Type Bs should avoid is chicken. Chicken contains a Blood Type B agglutinating lectin in its muscle tissue. Although chicken is a lean meat, the issue is the power of an agglutinating lectin attacking your bloodstream and the potential for it to lead to strokes and immune disorders. Dr. D'Adamo suggests that you wean yourself away from chicken and replace them with highly beneficial foods such as goat, lamb, mutton, rabbit and venison. Other foods that encourage weight loss are green vegetables, eggs, beneficial meats, and low fat dairy. When the toxic foods are avoided and replaced with beneficial foods, Blood Type Bs are very successful in controlling their weight.
Type AB reflects the mixed inheritance of their A and B genes. Type AB should avoid caffeine and alcohol, especially when you’re in stressful situations. Dr. D’Adamo recommends that Type AB focus on foods such as tofu, seafood, dairy and green vegetables if you are trying to lose weight. “Avoid all smoked or cured meats. These foods can cause stomach cancer in people with low levels of stomach acid,” recommends Dr. D’Adamo. There is a wide variety of seafood for Type AB, and it is an excellent source of protein for Type AB. A few highly beneficial fish are mahi-mahi, red snapper, salmon, sardines, and tuna.. Some dairy is also beneficial for Type AB – especially cultured dairy such as Yogurt and kefir. Smaller more frequent meals are a good thing for AB blood types.
This was a great blog for me to do. I never realized just how important your blood type could be to your diet. For example, i was always taught that chicken is very good for anyone, and it is, but for type B's it is not good to have alot of it. I took the time to find out I am type A and plan on trying to incorporate some of the ideas I learned here into my diet and way of life.
I guess it relates to the tribes of man quite simply because different types of blood probably formed in people depending on what they ate and how they lived their life.

Mitchondrial Eve and Five Human Types
Mitochondrial Eve is very important in the field of human genetics. Mitochondrial Eve refers to the matrilineal "MRCA" (most recent common ancestor). "She" was the woman from whom all living humans today descend, on their mother's side, and through the mothers of those mothers and so on, back until all lines converge on one person. Eve was believed to live 200,000 years ago in Africa.
Eve was the only female of her generation from whom all living people descend along their maternal lines.
Eve is important because there is a direct female line to her from all living humans. She is not our only common ancestor, nor is she our most recent. However, more recent ancestors are hard to date because of the mixing of the genes in sex.
What I take from this comes from a very literal meaning. I mean, if you believe in evolution at all then it only makes since that we all trace back to one common female ancestor. (pretty crazy to think about!!!)

Extreme Conditions/Extreme Environments
An extreme environment is an environment which exhibits harsh and challenging environment conditions. These conditions can be in the climate, landscapes and especially in certain extremes of temperature exceeding the boundaries of what a human can comfortably tolerate.
Examples of extreme environments include but are not limited to; Antarctic, Arctic, some deserts, jungles and volcanoes, underwater, upper atmosphere, outer space, other planets.
It is pretty amazing how certain organisms such as the white crabs in the hydrothermal vents are able to survive in such extreme environments.
this picture, although beautiful, is an example of an extreme environment, in which some animals such as certain whales and marine mammals or fish may be able to survive, but a human cannot.

This is an image of the hydrothermal vents..another extreme environment

It is amazing how although scientists cannot live in these environments, they are still able to study them and come up with new inventions and means of exploring these environments. As time goes on exploration will only get better and better
Deductive and Inductive Reasoning
Inductive and deductive reasoning are two methods of reasoning used to form a conclusion based on certain information that is assumed to be true. Inductive and deductive reasoning are used in research to establish hypotheses.
Inductive reasoning is also known as induction and inductive logic. Inductive reasoning is a kind of reasoning that constructs or evaluates inductive arguments. Inductive reasoning suggests the truth, but do not ensure it.
Inductive reasoning is also known as induction and inductive logic. Inductive reasoning is a kind of reasoning that constructs or evaluates inductive arguments. Inductive reasoning suggests the truth, but do not ensure it.
For example one could say that since all life forms we come across need water to exist, all life depends on liquid water to exist.
Deductive Reasoning is a type reasoning which constructs or evaluates deductive arguments. Deductive arguments try and show that a conclusion can be made from a set of premises or hypotheses. A deductive argument is valid if the conclusion does follow necessarily from the premise. An example is all human beings drink water. I am a human being. Therefore, I drink water. I used myself as an example, but any person or name could have been used there as an example of deductive reasoning.
Both inductive and deductive reasoning are similar in the fact that they are means of obtaining information and gaining knowledge. Not only are these good techniques to use for scientists or people in a job field that requires these types of reasoning, but they can be used in everyday life as well. For example. Every Freshman at Mercer lives in dorms. I am a freshman. Therefore I must live in a dorm. Or, all students at Mercer are expected to be on time for classes. I go to Mercer. Therefore I am expected to be on time for class.
It is important for people to be able to use these types of reasoning and gain knowledge in doing so. I feel like the difference between the two isn't as important as simply knowing what they are and how to use each as a tool.

Assignment Number 2: Class Analysis
I learned a lot during our first couple of weeks together pertaining to the art of communication. It's amazing just how much of our life as human being's is based on communication. This includes and is not limited to verbal, visual and electronic communication.
Verbal is simply speaking and communicating with others in that regard.
Visual includes hand gestures, body motions and just communication in ways not pertaining to speak.
Electronic includes emails, cell phones, facebook. etc...
Through certain class experiments and discussions we were able to utilize different types of communication and work together to perform certain tasks such as the paper football and cats cradle.
I think communication is something one tends to take for granted. I'm not sure of just how much, but I would guess that over three quarters of a persons life is based off of communication and being able to do so in a proper and efficient manner.
What I like about the class is that we focus on how people think and do certain things in life. I feel like that is the kind of things that students actually remember in school. Math, History and all the classes where a lot of memory is needed are good but classes like scientific inquiry can teach you things to apply to your everyday life.
I really can't say anything I don't like about the class so far. We really haven't got too far into readings and all yet, but what we have done in class I feel has been effective.
I look forward to what else we will get into as the semester goes on.

Communication is such an important tool for a human being to possess. It is impossible to gain knowledge and thrive as an individual if one is not able to commuincate with other's. Good communication skills are essential in school, most job fields, and overall just living a more effective lifestyle.
